Alliance of World Agricultural Heritage Systems

The main objective of the project is the valorization of traditional agricultural systems recognized as Important World Agricultural Heritage Systems (GIAHS) by the FAO or candidates to be so in the future in Costa Rica, Spain and Honduras, through a series of stages and coordinated actions. , which will entail the strengthening of the technical and management capacities of the entities and actors involved in each country. In the initial phase of the project, a series of detailed studies and diagnoses of these agricultural systems will be carried out in each country, identifying the starting situation of each of the 3 territories in which the project will be developed; as well as the common challenges at the political, institutional, legal, socioeconomic and environmental levels that hinder its preservation and development.
