Improvement of production capacities in the ginger value chain in native communities and Nueva Italia, Tahuania, Atalaya, Ucayali

Public investment project aimed at strengthening the production capacities of 250 producers participating in the ginger value chain. The intervention includes site identification and preparation, seed selection and preparation, demonstration plots and permanent production plots, soil recovery, crop-management technologies, rhizome maturation, harvesting and transportation techniques, postharvest management, strengthening of producer organizations, strategic alliances, awareness raising on tropical-crop management and study visits. It also includes marketing techniques, product presentation and value addition, market management, analysis of global supply and demand and a COVID-19 surveillance, prevention and control plan.
