Orinoquia Biocarbon Emissions Reduction Program

The project aims to finance measures for the verified reduction of emissions, derived from reduced deforestation, forest degradation, and the increase of carbon stocks in forests (REDD+), as well as in agriculture and other land uses. land. These reductions are intended to comply with the greenhouse gas accounting requirements of the ISFL BioCF Fund. It contemplates three main components: the distribution of payments for emission reductions through a shared benefits plan, a pilot to monitor biodiversity conservation in productive landscapes and a program management system together with a measurement, reporting and verification system. This project seeks to promote low-emission agricultural practices and conserve biodiversity in the Orinoquia region, which is considered the last agricultural frontier of the country.
