The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) have announced the allocation of $1 billion in funding for the purchase of U.S.-grown commodities. , with the goal of providing emergency food assistance globally. These efforts are part of the mission to help communities affected by global hunger. The project will initially use approximately $950 million to purchase products such as wheat, rice, sorghum, lentils, chickpeas, dried peas, vegetable oil, corn flour, and various types of beans from American agricultural producers.
