Research and innovation for the generation of lowland vegetable varieties resilient to climate change

Start Date: 31/12/2020
End Date: 31/12/2023

Description

This project aims to develop tomato, chili pepper, onion, and squash cultivars with greater stress resistance and higher productivity through conventional genetic improvement and the introduction of germplasm. The goal is to expand genetic variability and generate cultivars with high yield and resistance to diseases and high temperatures, particularly for producers in the Azuero region, thereby contributing to the sustainability of vegetable production systems in the country.
