PROBOSQUES II in Colombia

In November 2023, the second phase of the ProBosques II Productive Forest Landscapes project in Colombia began. This project will provide fundamental support to the Ministry of Environment, Ministry of Agriculture and regional environmental authorities of Colombia, focusing on the departments of Meta, Guaviare and Caquetá. The objective is to reduce deforestation and strengthen forest management processes of natural forests to implement them in an adequate, comprehensive and sustainable manner. ProBosques II is based on three strategic lines of action: the implementation of policies and strategies for sustainable forest management, with special attention to the development of a national forest extension system that integrates a gender perspective; promoting value chains for forest products, improving the skills of producer organizations and promoting diversification and increased income; and coordination and articulation between key actors to promote shared knowledge on sustainable and inclusive forest management.
