CONPES 4021: National Policy for the Control of Deforestation and Sustainable Forest Management

The National Policy for the Control of Deforestation and Sustainable Forest Management establishes the guidelines and strategies to address deforestation in Colombia. This document proposes a multifaceted approach that includes four strategic lines: improving the quality of life and the local economy through the sustainable use of forests, articulating cross-sector actions, promoting prevention and territorial control strategies, and strengthening information management. The implementation of this policy, planned for a period of ten years (2020-2030), involves multiple sectors of the government and requires estimated investments of 714,144 million pesos, seeking to align national efforts with international commitments to achieve the goal of zero net deforestation. by 2030.
