CONPES 4021: National Policy for Deforestation Control and Sustainable Forest Management

The National Policy for Deforestation Control and Sustainable Forest Management, adopted via CONPES Document 4021 of 2020, establishes a national roadmap through 2030 to reduce forest loss through sustainable productive alternatives, cross-sector coordination, strengthened territorial control, and improved information and monitoring systems. In the agricultural and livestock sectors, it promotes the stabilization of the agricultural frontier, community forestry, sustainable livestock farming, agro-environmental systems, technical assistance, and zero-deforestation agreements within priority supply chains. The policy envisions indicative investments of approximately COP 714.144 billion.
