Molecular characterization for the valuation and conservation of agrobiodiversity.

Start Date: N/A
End Date: N/A

Description

The project will implement molecular biology techniques to explore native and improved germplasm, relevant for institutional genetic improvement projects, expanding knowledge about our agrobiodiversity and valuing it. We expect to obtain information on tolerance/resistance characteristics against pathogens and others, which will allow us to use creole materials as progenitors in genetic improvement projects and/or recommend varieties for cultivation in specific areas, as an environmentally friendly management strategy with lower production costs. We also hope to identify characteristics that will allow diversification of production.
