Description

The purpose of the project is to contribute to the improvement of Panamanian citriculture through the development of genotypes resistant and/or tolerant to the bacterium that causes Huanglongbing (HLB). The project was drafted in 2018 and was submitted for consultation with South-South cooperation mechanisms, managing to obtain the support of the Instituto de Investigaciones Agropecuarias de Chile, which has solid experience in the use of biotechnologies for genetic improvement. The project is co-financed by IDIAP, INIA Chile and the National Secretariat of Science, Technology and Innovation (SENACYT) and has a duration of 36 months (August 2020 - July 2023).
