Special Lines of Credit with subsidized rate in Colombia

The Ministry has allocated more than $209.4 billion Colombian pesos to Special Lines of Credit (LEC) to support working capital with subsidized interest rates and extended payment terms, which means an average interest rate of 5% annual cash for small producers and up to 3% for special beneficiaries. These LECs are divided into three categories: Productive Development, which promotes competitive and ecological agriculture with subsidies of up to five years, including a year of grace; Agricultural Reactivation, for those affected by climate or animal and plant health problems, with similar subsidy conditions; and Agrarian Reform, focused on the acquisition of land for agriculture, with a subsidy extended to twenty years and up to three years of grace. These measures seek to alleviate the financial burden on producers and promote sustainable and competitive practices in the agricultural sector.
