The main objective of the BioValor program is to implement economic development strategies that conserve biodiversity in specific coastal and Amazonian landscapes of Ecuador, in collaboration with key actors from local and indigenous communities, the private sector, local governments, academia, and the central government. This program focuses on strengthening the capacities of local and national actors for the conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity, improving the coordination and application of conservation measures, and strengthening the value chains of products and services that conserve biodiversity and are climate resistant, with a gender perspective. In addition, small producers are supported by certification and training to improve their conditions of access to export to the European market.
