Description

The AGRUPAR (Participatory Urban Agriculture) program has the objective of promoting urban and peri-urban agriculture as a strategy to improve the quality of life of the vulnerable population of the Metropolitan District of Quito. AGRUPAR seeks to advance food security and socioeconomic development through urban agriculture, focusing on historically marginalized groups. The program has four main axes, support for urban gardens for self-consumption and the sale of surpluses, support for local production market-oriented, food supply and distribution, and promotion of food consumption, healthy diets and nutrition.
