Quito Declaration: Urban Agriculture in 21st Century Cities

The Quito Declaration on Urban Agriculture in 21st Century Cities, adopted in April 2000 by local government representatives from Latin America and the Caribbean, called for the incorporation of urban and peri-urban agriculture into city policies and planning as a means of improving food security, reducing poverty, generating income and employment, and enhancing environmental management.
