Description

The Quito Declaration proposes a series of actions focused on the development and promotion of Urban Agriculture in the cities of Latin America and the Caribbean to confront problems of poverty, food insecurity and environmental deterioration. Some of the actions include recognition and support for urban agriculture, the commitment of local governments, territorial planning, among others. This declaration served as the basis for the formulation of the Urban Participatory Agriculture Program (AGRUPAR) that has been executed since 2002 in Quito, Ecuador.
