Regional Trade Program CAFTA-DR

Fecha de inicio: 31/12/2007
Fecha de fin: 31/12/2009

Description

The program helped the countries of the DR-CAFTA to meet their obligations under the treaty within the stipulated deadlines, through four main activities. These include the successful implementation of Rules of Origin (ROO) procedures, compliance with customs requirements described in Chapter 5, the provision of complementary technical assistance (TA) in line with each country's national action plans for trade capacity development or through coordinated activities under the Trade Capacity Building (TCB) Committee mechanism. Additionally, the program aimed to guide countries towards the adoption and/or compliance with three international conventions and agreements: the Inter-American Convention on the Legal Regime of Powers for Use Abroad, the Inter-American Regulation on Electronic Documents and Signatures, and the Hague Convention Abolishing the Requirement of Legalization for Foreign Public Documents.
