Decarbonization of the Brazilian Amazon: Support for Policy Reforms

The objective of this Technical Cooperation (TC) is to accelerate structural reforms of public policies to promote sustainable and carbon-efficient economic development, in order to (i) promote fiscal sustainability in line with the decarbonization of the economy, ( ii) consolidate climate governance at the state level; (iii) conserve and restore ecosystems with high carbon storage and removal capacity, using nature-based solutions (NbS); (iv) develop Bioeconomy chains and promote climate-smart agriculture through low-carbon agrosilvopastoral production; (v) promote financial instruments that consolidate the decarbonization trajectory of the Amazonian states and (vi) promote gender, equality and inclusion in political reforms towards a green economy.
