Description

The Risk Management and Adaptation Plan to Climate Change in the Agricultural Sector (PLANGRACC-A) is a national document prepared in collaboration with the FAO, covering the period 2012-2021. Its main purpose is to mitigate the adverse effects of climate change on agriculture, through policies and actions agreed upon at the regional level. It focuses on promoting food security through the implementation of appropriate technologies, the use of native varieties and the adoption of agroecological practices. Prioritizes the resilience of rural communities against climate risks, with emphasis on prevention, preparation and response to natural disasters such as droughts, frosts and floods. The plan is oriented towards productive and sustainable development, identifying strategic axes that include research, preparation and response to emergencies, prevention of climate risks and strengthening local capacities in risk management and adaptation to climate change.
