Draft Action Plan for Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation

Draft proposal of the Ministry of Environment of Peru published for public consultation through Ministerial Resolution No. 060-2010-MINAM. It constitutes a first approximation to the National Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation Plan and proposes priority short- and medium-term programs, projects and actions. Its objectives include promoting mitigation and adaptation measures, reducing risks and vulnerability, incorporating climate change into investments, policies and planning instruments, strengthening research, information generation and individual and institutional capacities, guiding cooperation and financing, and contributing to sustainable low-carbon development. The Action Plan is organized around seven thematic lines: emissions inventories and information systems, mitigation, adaptation, integration into decision-making, research and systematic observation, capacity building and public awareness, and financing management.
