Description

The Plan for Adaptation to Climate Variability and Change in the Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Sector is a multisectoral instrument that seeks to comply with the 2010-2015 Action Plan of the National Strategy for Adaptation to Climate Change. It is a broad framework that guides the sector's actions for adaptation to climate variability and change, making it possible to mainstream the incorporation of these aspects into rural planning with the involvement of local organizational structures. The Plan has a 20-year implementation horizon (2013-2033) and proposes the following strategic guidelines: 1) Strengthening and development of capacities for adaptation in the sector; 2) Sustainable management of biodiversity for productive purposes; 3) Integrated water management for productive purposes; 4) Climate risk management; 5) Sustainable soil management; 6) Technological innovation and adoption for adaptation; 7) Governance and policies for adaptation; 8) Innovation and development of financial mechanisms and economic instruments for climate adaptation.
