Description

The Honduras Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC-HN) is a document that establishes the country's commitments and goals to address climate change, both in mitigation and adaptation, with a comprehensive approach that includes components of social inclusion, financing, and reporting and verification mechanisms. The NDC-HN establishes 13 strategic objectives that guide national actions towards low-carbon and resilient development, with special emphasis on vulnerable groups such as women, youth, and indigenous and Afro-Honduran peoples. Honduras commits to reducing 16% of its GHG emissions compared to the business-as-usual scenario by 2030, as well as implementing adaptation measures in priority sectors such as water resources, biodiversity, and agri-food systems.
