Description

The purpose of this law is to establish the necessary regulations to prevent, plan and respond in an urgent, adequate, coordinated and sustained manner to the impacts of climate change in the country. The main purpose of this law is for the State of Guatemala, through the Central Government, decentralized entities, autonomous entities, municipalities, organized civil society and the population in general, to adopt practices that promote conditions to reduce vulnerability, improve adaptation capacities and allow the development of proposals to mitigate the effects of climate change caused by greenhouse gas emissions.
