Fecha de inicio: 31/12/2010
Fecha de fin: 31/12/2015

Description

Nicaragua's National Environmental and Climate Change Strategy (ENACCC) establishes the national environmental and climate change strategy for the period between 2010 and 2015. This cross-sectoral strategy aims to promote the protection of the environment and natural resources while preventing, mitigating, and ensuring adaptation to climate change. The ultimate goal is to guarantee food and nutritional security for the population and reduce poverty in the most vulnerable sectors. The document is structured around five strategic guidelines, each specifying the responsible authorities, funding sources, and lines of action to be undertaken. The strategic guidelines are as follows: 1) Environmental education actions for life; 2) Actions for the defense and protection of the environment and natural resources; 3) Actions for the conservation, recovery, and harvesting of water sources; 4) Actions for the prevention, mitigation, and adaptation to climate change; 5) Actions for the sustainable management of land.
