Description
The Update of the Regional Climate Change Strategy of Ucayali 2019–2022 establishes the regional framework for integrated climate change management and for promoting climate-resilient and low-carbon development. The strategy is structured around three components: adaptation, mitigation, and governance. Its adaptation component seeks to reduce vulnerability to current and potential climate change impacts by strengthening awareness and adaptive capacity among the population, economic actors, and government sectors. Its mitigation component promotes the conservation of carbon stocks and the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions through sustainable low-emission rural development. Its governance component aims to strengthen climate management among public and private institutions, producers, indigenous peoples, riverine populations, and other regional actors, while integrating adaptation and mitigation measures into regional planning, investment, and management instruments.
