Description

The Nationally Determined Contribution aims to meet the provisions set out in the Paris Agreement, as well as to promote adaptation and mitigation in Uruguay to the challenge of climate change under the National Climate Change Policy in order to contribute to the sustainable development of the country, with a global perspective, intra- and intergenerational equity and human rights, seeking a more resilient society, less vulnerable, with greater capacity to adapt to climate change and variability, and more aware and responsible in the face of the challenge of climate change, promoting a low-carbon economy, based on environmentally, socially and economically sustainable production processes and services, and incorporating knowledge and innovation.
