NDC: Nationally Determined Contribution of El Salvador

Description

El Salvador submitted its Intended Nationally Determined Contribution (INDC) to the UNFCCC. Nationally Determined Contribution (INDC), which was later adopted in 2015 as its First Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC). From the commitments derived from its First NDC, El Salvador has made significant progress: shaping a regulatory framework and institutional arrangements; developing technical studies to analyse national circumstances, contribution in GHG emissions and climate risk for different sectors and systems; analysing needs, opportunities and barriers in terms of means of implementation; and establishing national development priorities and objectives in the strategic framework for climate change to achieve a low-carbon society, economy and environment with adaptive capacity and resilience. In addition, El Salvador is preparing the NDC monitoring, reporting and verification system, projecting its submission in an immediate addendum to this document in 2022.
