Complementary non-reimbursable investment financing for resilience and nature-based solutions in the Lake Yojoa basin (Honduras)
This initiative is a complementary non-reimbursable investment financing (IGR) to an already approved “Project,” focused exclusively on the Lake Yojoa basin in Honduras. It aims to contribute to resilient, low-carbon, and inclusive development through two specific objectives: promoting the adoption of climate-smart and/or agroecological technologies and practices by MSMEs, and promoting forest cover and/or soil restoration technologies or practices by key local actors. Operationally, it provides comprehensive technical assistance and direct in-kind non-reimbursable support to implement business plans for MSMEs and forest cover/soil restoration plans using nature-based solutions. The intervention prioritizes specific micro-watersheds (Varsovia, Yure, La Pita, Quebradona, and Lake Yojoa) and foresees expanding coverage by incorporating additional micro-watersheds if needed and resources allow. With an inclusion focus, it plans actions to identify and support women-led MSMEs (target: 25%) and culturally relevant approaches for indigenous peoples, while helping reduce deforestation pressures and unsustainable productive practices affecting water, biodiversity, and livelihoods.
ImpactCAF: Towards a resilient, sustainable, and regenerative agricultural sector
Institutional program of the Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean (CAF) aimed at evaluating, highlighting, and strengthening the impact of its financing and technical cooperation operations in the agricultural sector of Latin America and the Caribbean. The initiative promotes a model of sustainable, inclusive, and regenerative agriculture, integrating climate resilience, technological innovation, efficient management of natural resources, and the inclusion of small producers in sustainable value chains.
Implementation of sustainable agroforestry systems in coffee farms for agricultural frontier closure
This initiative seeks to strengthen sustainable agroforestry productive systems in coffee farms that contribute to the closure of the agricultural frontier for deforestation reduction and income generation for small rural producers. The project includes the establishment of approximately 2,000 hectares of agroforestry systems through planting 500,000 forest trees, strengthening 600 hectares of existing coffee plantations, and strengthening the productive process for environmental impact reduction. A gender-focused agroforestry extension program will be implemented including technical training, commercial plans and voluntary zero deforestation agreements. The initiative will benefit small coffee producers in the departments of Cesar, Magdalena, Santander and Norte de Santander, prioritizing vulnerable populations, indigenous, Afro-Colombian and peasant communities with a minimum of 25% women participation.

Costa Rica National Biodiversity Strategy 2016-2025
The Costa Rica National Biodiversity Strategy 2016-2025 is the main implementation instrument of the National Biodiversity Policy 2015-2030, which seeks to reverse the loss and deterioration of biodiversity at different levels: ecosystems, species and genetic resources. The strategy identifies seven priority strategic themes including in situ conservation of the National System of Protected Wild Areas, restoration of terrestrial, marine-coastal and freshwater ecosystems, territorial planning, and strengthening of governance and citizen participation. The policy framework establishes 23 global goals by 2025, 98 national goals by 2020 and has a portfolio of 41 active programs and projects with USD 100 million in funding for the 2016-2020 period. The strategy was developed through an extensive participatory process with more than 1,021 people including indigenous peoples, local communities, private sector, academia and government institutions, under human rights, gender, ecosystem and results-based management approaches.
Practical Guide for the Issuance of Thematic Securities
The Practical Guide for the Issuance of Thematic Securities is a document developed by the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources (MMARN), the Superintendence of the Securities Market (SIMV), the Association of Multiple Banks (ABA) and the Stock Exchange and Securities Market of the Dominican Republic (BVRD) with technical support from the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI). This guide establishes practical guidelines to facilitate the issuance of green, social and sustainable securities in the Dominican market, aligned with international standards such as the Green Bond Principles (GBP), Social Bond Principles (SBP) and the Sustainability Bond Guidelines (SBG) of ICMA. It provides a detailed roadmap on the steps, regulatory requirements, project evaluation and selection processes, fund management and impact reporting necessary to structure these issuances. The main objective is to mobilize capital towards projects that address environmental and social challenges, supporting the implementation of the Dominican Republic's Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The guide also integrates the Green Taxonomy of the Dominican Republic and promotes transparency, credibility and integrity in the country's thematic securities market.
Green, Social and Sustainable Bonds Framework of the Dominican Republic
The Green, Social and Sustainable Bonds Framework of the Dominican Republic establishes the country's commitments and obligations for thematic sovereign bond issuances aimed at financing environmental sectoral strategies, sustainable transition and social investment. This framework, developed under ICMA principles, identifies nine green categories including low-carbon transport, renewable energy, climate change adaptation, biodiversity conservation and natural resource management, plus eight social categories focused on food security, education, health, housing, employment and inequality reduction. The document establishes evaluation and selection processes for eligible expenditures through the Thematic Bonds Commission, fund management systems and external reporting and verification requirements. The framework aligns with the National Development Strategy 2030, the Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) and the Sustainable Development Goals, seeking to mobilize resources towards investments with high impact on mitigation, adaptation and biodiversity conservation.

NAMA for a Low Carbon and Climate Resilient Livestock Sector in Honduras
The NAMA for a Low Carbon and Climate Resilient Livestock Sector in Honduras seeks to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from the livestock sector through sustainable practices that increase farm productivity and resilience. Silvopastoral systems, biodigesters, organic fertilizers and nutritional blocks will be implemented to improve livestock management and reduce deforestation. This initiative aligns with national development plans, contributing to goals of poverty reduction, job creation, ecological restoration and climate mitigation. The goal is to transform the livestock sector into a net carbon sink, with positive social, environmental and economic impacts. Implementation considers two reduction scenarios, aiming for conversion of 20% or 30% of current practices to sustainable practices.
