Decree No. 107-2026: Law for the Strengthening and Protection of Honduras' Agro-Industrial Sector, Energy and Tourism Projects, Livestock and Small Agricultural Producers

Decree No. 107-2026 enacts the Law for the Strengthening and Protection of Honduras' Agro-Industrial Sector, Energy and Tourism Projects, Livestock and Small Agricultural Producers. The Law declares the protection of agro-industrial, livestock and agricultural activities, energy and tourism projects, productive land and property, productive infrastructure, logistics chains and the transportation of goods, inputs, machinery and animals to be a matter of public order, national interest and national priority. It declares certain legally titled productive lands and improvements protected from specified forms of legal affectation; establishes preferential administrative processing and shortened deadlines; guarantees continuous movement of agro-industrial products, particularly perishable goods; requires safe logistics corridors in the event of blockages; strengthens institutional action against illegal occupation, invasion and usurpation; and establishes responsibilities for public officials who fail to comply with the Law. Application of the Law in recognized Indigenous and Tribal territories requires prior Free, Prior and Informed Consultation in accordance with ILO Convention No. 169 and the Constitution of Honduras.
