Description

Chile's Sectoral Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation Plan for the infrastructure sector, approved through Supreme Decree No. 167 of the Ministry of Public Works, establishes measures to develop climate-resilient public infrastructure, adapt territories and communities to climate change impacts, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions in accordance with Chile's carbon-neutrality commitments. The Plan comprises eight strategic lines and fifteen measures concerning resilient designs, nature-based solutions, water infrastructure for human consumption, infrastructure conservation and improvement, construction and demolition waste management, efficient use of water and energy, carbon-footprint measurement and management, capacity building, governance, monitoring, and evaluation. Its actions are implemented during the period ending in 2029.
