Incorporation of Monk Fruit Extract into the Argentine Food Code

Joint Resolution 3/2026 incorporates monk fruit extract, Siraitia grosvenorii, as item 179 of Article 1,398 of the Argentine Food Code for use as a sweetener. The amendment establishes identity, quality and purity criteria to ensure its safe use in foods and beverages, considering its sweetening power mainly derived from mogrosides, especially mogroside V.
