Description
The U.S. Department of Commerce announced its withdrawal from and termination of the 2019 Agreement Suspending the Antidumping Duty Investigation on Fresh Tomatoes from Mexico, under Section XI.B of the agreement, which allows withdrawal with 90 days’ written notice. Following termination of the agreement, Commerce issued an antidumping duty order resulting in duties of 17.09 percent on most imports of tomatoes from Mexico. The source states that the measure responds to unfair trade practices and sales of Mexican tomatoes in the United States at prices considered unfair.
