Peru: National BioTrade Strategy and its Action Plan to 2025 (Supreme Decree 008-2016-MINCETUR)

The National BioTrade Strategy and its Action Plan 2015-2025 aim to consolidate the institutional, legal and operational framework to promote biotrade in Peru. Its first strategic objective is to position biotrade in the national political agenda and as a transversal axis in public policies. The strategy is organized into seven thematic areas: policies and regulations, institutional framework, supply development, R&D&I, market development, knowledge management, and monitoring and evaluation. The supply development axis seeks to promote native biodiversity products, strengthen the capacities of biotrade initiatives, and ensure compliance with health, quality and sustainability standards.
