Peru: National Concerted Plan for the Promotion and Encouragement of Organic or Ecological Production PLANAE 2021-2030 (DS N° 011-2021-MIDAGRI)

The Supreme Decree that approves the National Concerted Plan for the Promotion and Development of Organic or Ecological Production - PLANAE 2021-2030, establishes this instrument as the main axis for implementing the national policy on ecological production, articulating efforts at the sectoral, intergovernmental and private sector levels. Its objective is to improve the competitiveness and sustainability of the sector, with emphasis on family farming. The plan proposes five strategic lines: increasing productivity and the management of natural capital, improving the quality of production, promoting research with an agro-ecosystemic approach, consolidating market presence and strengthening the sector's institutional framework. The vision for 2030 is to achieve sustained growth in the production and trade of organic products, with a positive impact on the economy, the income of small producers and the environment. Its mission is to coordinate public and private actors around sustainable and competitive management. An analysis of the global and national context is also presented, highlighting key organic products such as coffee, cocoa, bananas, quinoa and Brazil nuts, and their export performance.
