Description

The Trade Association Agreement between Ecuador and Costa Rica was signed on March 1, 2023, following four rounds of negotiations held between August and December 2022. This cutting-edge treaty covers 20 areas and seeks to strengthen trade between the two countries, which reached $110 million in 2022. Ecuadorian exports focused on products such as tuna, shrimp, medicines, and sanitary ceramics, while imports included medical and metallurgical supplies. The agreement must be reviewed by the Constitutional Court and approved by the National Assembly before entering into force.
