Description

The Standard establishes the guidelines for the mixture of milk with vegetable fat marketed in Mexico, covering everything from the name of the product to the physicochemical specifications and the information that must appear on the labels. This standard aims to ensure that these products comply with the necessary requirements to protect consumers, ensuring both the safety of the product and the clarity of the commercial information provided. In terms of its application, the standard regulates all types of mixtures of milk with vegetable fat, covering processes such as pasteurization, rehydration and flavoring. The physicochemical characteristics that these products must meet are specified, such as density, fat content and acidity, in addition to the test methods to verify these characteristics. These procedures are detailed and precise, using advanced techniques such as liquid chromatography and other laboratory tests to ensure compliance with the standards. Finally, it also establishes strict requirements for the labeling of products, requiring that the commercial information be clear and complete, including the correct name of the product, the quantity of ingredients and the expiration date.
