Description

The Program aims to make visible and differentiate products and services of Peasant Family Agriculture (AFC) by awarding an incentive. This incentive consists of the authorization to use the Manos Campesinas Seal, which symbolizes compliance with certain differentiating attributes. The program seeks to recognize and validate products and services with their specific requirements, attributes and respective verifiers so that they can count on the use of the Seal in all relevant areas at the national level. The objectives of the program include promoting immediate recognition by consumers and INDAP users of the value attributes promoted by the Manos Campesinas Seal through the dissemination and promotion of the valuation characteristics of the products or services that access the program voluntarily. In addition, the program aims to grant a special distinction to products and services developed by peasant family farming, in accordance with compliance with the value attributes defined for the Manos Campesinas Seal and compliance with specific requirements and respective verifiers for the items at the national level. . Likewise, it seeks to establish an administrative and operational platform for INDAP users to improve their insertion in the markets through a differentiation strategy that promotes and protects the origin of the products and services developed by peasant family farming. The products and services enabled in the program cover a wide range of categories. Primary plant products include vegetables, fruits, cereals, legumes, herbs, mushrooms, among others. In the category of primary animal products are eggs, honey, wool, hides and feathers. Processed products, both vegetable and animal, include jams, preserves, juices, dairy, meat and bee products, among others. Harvested products include vegetables, fruits, seaweed and more. In addition, crafts such as textiles, saddlery, goldsmithing, woodworking, pottery and basket weaving are included, as well as rural tourism services that include accommodation and catering in rural environments.
