DECREE N° 9,221 Regulates the Program for the Promotion of Rural Productive Activities

The Program for the Promotion of Rural Productive Activities, established by Law No. 12,512 and regulated by Decree No. 9,221, has as its main objectives to structure the productive activities of the beneficiaries to promote their productive inclusion and food and nutritional security, contribute to the increase of the income and assets of the beneficiaries through the generation of surpluses in the supported productive activities, promote sustainable and agroecological productive activities, promote complementary actions to strengthen the autonomy of the beneficiaries, such as technical and social monitoring, access to markets and provision of infrastructure for production, stimulate the dynamism of rural territories, guiding beneficiary families on economic opportunities in regional productive chains, encourage the participation of beneficiary families in social, educational, technical and vocational training actions, and encourage the organization associative and cooperative of the beneficiaries. The program is aimed at families in extreme poverty living in rural areas, families in poverty and extreme poverty in the semi-arid region, family farmers and other priority groups established by the Ministry of Development and Social Assistance, Family and Fight against hunger. Priority will be given to the inclusion of families in conditions of greater vulnerability, especially food and nutritional insecurity.
