Description
The Resolution establishes the health requirements to prevent the introduction of Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy (BSE) through the importation of high-risk cattle, products and by-products. The resolution is based on the recommendations of the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE) and the Andean Community (CAN), which indicate that some products of bovine origin do not represent a significant risk of BSE transmission if the requirements are met. risk mitigation measures. It establishes that the importation of bovines intended for reproduction will only be permitted from countries with negligible or controlled risk of BSE, as recognized by the OIE, provided that risk analysis studies and CAN regulations are complied with. The import of milk and dairy products, bovine semen and embryos, hides and skins, gelatin and collagen from hides and skins, deproteinated tallow and derived products, dicalcium phosphate without traces of protein or fat, and balanced feed for canines and felines from countries with negligible or controlled risk of BSE.
