Sector Strategy for agricultural marketing: Harvest and sell on a fixed basis, contract farming

Fecha de inicio: 31/12/2019
Fecha de fin: N/A

Description

The strategy seeks to sustainably link small rural producers to growing markets through contract farming. This national strategy, which involves various public and private entities and agricultural unions, has the main purpose of reducing uncertainty and risks in agricultural marketing processes through the advance sale of production. This will allow a more equitable distribution of profits throughout the marketing chain. The general objectives of the strategy are to generate a stable supply of raw materials with the required quality, promote efficient and profitable production processes, encourage the formalization of commercial relationships and contribute to the competitiveness of the sector. To achieve these objectives, several strategic actions have been outlined. Among them, the creation of alliances with agribusiness and large stores stands out, the provision of comprehensive technical support services to producers, and the organization of meeting spaces between supply and demand. In addition, financial and tax incentives are offered to encourage contract farming, including special credits and subsidies for agricultural insurance.
