Law No. 30157 – Law on Water User Organizations

Law No. 30157 regulates the establishment and operation of water user organizations provided for under Law No. 29338, the Water Resources Law. It establishes that these organizations are stable, non-profit entities composed of individuals and legal entities that channel their members' participation in multisectoral water management and the sustainable use of water resources. The Law regulates Water User Boards, Commissions and Committees, establishes their recognition by the National Water Authority, and provides oversight mechanisms for the performance of their functions related to hydraulic infrastructure and water resources management.
