Peru: Law No. 30157 on Water Users Organizations

The purpose of this special Law is to establish the rules for the creation and operation of water users' organizations, in accordance with the provisions of the Water Resources Law. These organizations, made up of natural and legal persons, are permanent entities that allow the active participation of their members in the multisectoral management and responsible use of water. They are not-for-profit and their work in the management of water infrastructure and water resources is considered to be in the public interest.
