Executive Decree No. 1265 of Ecuador that incorporates the operating chapter of the Research Fund for Agrobiodiversity, Seeds and Sustainable Agriculture (FIASA).

The Agrobiodiversity, Seed, and Sustainable Agriculture Research Fund (FIASA) will finance programs and projects according to the provisions of Article 16 of the Organic Law of Agrobiodiversity, Seeds, and Promotion of Sustainable Agriculture (LOASFAS). To comply with Article 16 of the LOASFAS, the economic resources for FIASA will be allocated directly from the General Budget to the Public Agricultural Research Entity and will amount to up to 1.0% (one percent) of the previous year's or the latest available data of the agricultural Gross Domestic Product (GDP). With the goal of reaching 1% of the agricultural GDP, allocations will gradually increase by up to 0.2% of the agricultural GDP on an annual basis.
