Executive Decree No. 1265 of Ecuador that incorporates the operating chapter of the Research Fund for Agrobiodiversity, Seeds and Sustainable Agriculture (FIASA).

Executive Decree No. 1265 of 2021 amends the Regulations of Ecuador's Organic Law on Agrobiodiversity, Seeds and Promotion of Sustainable Agriculture by incorporating the operational framework of the Agrobiodiversity, Seeds and Sustainable Agriculture Research Fund (FIASA). The decree regulates the Fund's objectives, eligible actors, governance and technical evaluation bodies, budget, allocation of resources, competitive funding mechanisms and accountability arrangements. FIASA finances research, conservation and use of plant genetic resources, seed identification and production, plant breeding, technology development and transfer, and sustainable agriculture projects.
