Colombia: National Rural Plan of the System for the Progressive Guarantee of the Right to Food (Resolution 000213 of 2022)

The National Rural Plan of the System for the Progressive Guarantee of the Right to Food (SGPDA), adopted through Resolution 000213 of 2022, seeks to progressively guarantee the right to food of the rural population through coordinated and intersectoral actions. Its specific objectives are to implement the System for the Progressive Guarantee of the Human Right to Food in rural territories by strengthening coordination among institutions and levels of government and citizen participation; increase the capacities and opportunities of rural families and communities to access healthy, nutritious and culturally appropriate food through food programs and food and nutrition education; and improve production and marketing conditions for peasant, family and community economies and ethnic groups through agroecological practices and the promotion and consolidation of local and regional markets. The Plan includes agricultural extension, technical assistance, strengthening of producer organizations, short marketing circuits, local public food procurement, productive alliances, food and nutrition education, interinstitutional coordination, and monitoring and evaluation systems. The Plan remains in force through 2031.
