National Livestock Development Plan 2017–2027

The National Livestock Development Plan 2017–2027 establishes Peru's strategic roadmap for improving competitiveness and promoting the sustainable productive and commercial development of the livestock sector. The Plan seeks to sustainably manage natural resources and reduce the climate vulnerability of livestock systems; increase production through technology and innovation; increase value added in livestock products; expand service coverage and market access; and strengthen sector institutions and the regulatory framework. It includes actions related to territorial planning, pasture, soil and water management, genetic resources, animal feeding, animal health, productive infrastructure, innovation, processing, commercialization, producer services and institutional strengthening.
