Description

The National Food and Nutrition Security Policy 2018-2028 is a strategy developed through extensive public consultation, with a country vision aimed at meeting the food needs of the Salvadoran population. It seeks to improve food availability in the country by strengthening production and productivity, stabilizing prices, and increasing minimum wages to enable greater purchasing power for families. It provides comprehensive care to the population, with emphasis on vulnerable groups and those affected by emergencies. It strengthens the legal and institutional framework to facilitate its implementation and sustainability at national and local levels. It recognizes food and nutrition as a fundamental human right for life and seeks to eradicate any type of malnutrition to achieve full human development.
