Law 2186 of 2022 – Strengthening Financing for Small and Medium-Sized Agricultural Producers

Law 2186 of 2022 aims to strengthen access to financing for small and medium-sized agricultural producers in Colombia. In its original design, it established measures concerning the allocation of resources linked to Agricultural Development Securities, differentiated conditions for producers organized through associations and cooperatives, and guarantees for agricultural loans. It also provides for monitoring and oversight mechanisms and prioritizes rural women in access to financing. Articles 2 and 3, which contained part of the original financial mechanisms, were subsequently repealed by Law 2294 of 2023.
