Colombia – Antioquia: Public Policy for Peasant, Family and Community Agriculture (ACFC) – Ordinance No. 16 of 2019

Departmental public policy adopted through Ordinance No. 16 of 12 June 2019 to protect, develop and consolidate peasant, family and community agriculture as both a way of life and a productive activity in the Department of Antioquia. The policy territorially implements Colombia's national guidelines for Peasant, Family and Community Agriculture and guides actions related to productive strengthening, agricultural extension and technical support, producer organization, market access, commercialization, institutional participation and the sustainability of rural production systems. It establishes coordination mechanisms through the Departmental Peasant, Family and Community Agriculture Committee and requires special support for this population within Departmental Agricultural Extension Plans. The policy also promotes productive conversion toward agroecological systems, appropriate technologies for sustainable production and alternative energy solutions, while incorporating measures aimed at strengthening the participation of rural women and young people. The policy remains in force and continues to serve as a reference framework for Antioquia's 2024–2027 agricultural planning.
