Peru: Law No. 31071 State Purchases of Food of Origin in Family Agriculture

Description

Approved by Supreme Decree No. 0012-2021-MIDAGRI, this law establishes that at least 30% of the food purchased by public assistance programs must come from family agriculture, in order to strengthen the economy of small producers, promote the consumption of their products and contribute to a healthy diet. Purchases are made through the Family Agriculture Public Procurement Committees (COMPRAGRO), following the technical and normative specifications of the corresponding regulations.
