Colombia: Law 1978 for the Modernization of the ICT Sector

The purpose of this Law is to align the incentives of the agents and authorities of the Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) sector, increase its legal certainty, simplify and modernise the institutional framework of the sector, focus investments for the effective closing of the digital divide and enhance the involvement of the private sector in the development of the associated projects, as well as increase efficiency in the payment of the economic considerations and charges of the sector's agents.
