Motivation

Technical assistance and rural extension are key drivers of sustainable development, innovation, and economic inclusion for family farming and rural MSMEs.

The use of appropriate technologies, digital strategies, and innovative approaches in these services offers opportunities by strengthening producers’ capacities to integrate competitively, sustainably, and resiliently into dynamic markets.

Contextualized and appropriate ICTs make it possible to improve access to information, reduce costs, increase efficiency, and strengthen linkages with value chains without compromising sustainability.

Therefore, access to connectivity, digital literacy, and the use of technological platforms are increasingly recognized as enabling factors for improved productive and commercial integration.

In the face of challenges such as the risks of extreme climate events, demand for sustainable products, and digital transformation, responses from technical assistance and rural extension must be systemic, adaptive, and people-centered.

In this Dialogue Forum, we seek to exchange results and lessons learned from the use of diverse strategies, approaches, and technological tools to support the sustainable development of small farmers and MSMEs linked to family farming.

The analysis of concrete experiences will allow us to identify best practices, success factors, areas for improvement, as well as possibilities for adaptation, replication, or scaling up. We invite active participation in this space for dialogue and reflection, convinced that collaborative innovation—focused on capacity building and competitive sustainability—is essential to open new opportunities for family farmers and rural MSMEs in our region.
