Description

The Paraguayan Sustainable Livestock Proposal seeks to compile the good practices implemented or to be implemented by the livestock sector that, in addition to generating benefits in productivity and profitability of the business, bring social benefits (work, income, improvement of infrastructure) and environmental benefits (including adaptation and mitigation of climate change), These practices include improved nutrition through strategic supplementation, agricultural-livestock integration for fodder conservation (hay and silage), rational grazing, silvopastoral systems, among others. This document contains the key elements considered in the design/planning process of what could be the Paraguayan Sustainable Livestock Proposal; it was built by a consulting team, under the leadership of the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development, the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock and the National Forestry Institute, with the objective of building a martyr document, which can serve as a basis to start conversations with the productive sector and if there is interest, it can be reviewed, adjusted and validated by the parties, to be eventually presented to international funding windows.
