Description

The study develops a characterization of the soybean and coffee chain, analyzing the productive orientations and their specialization patterns, as well as the perspectives of these chains in the medium term.The document is structured in 5 chapters. The first presents the context of the agri-food sector worldwide, which is followed by a second section in which the conceptual approach is presented under which the orientations and productive patterns of both chains will be analyzed. The third section characterizes both chains, analyzing their main productive orientations, their specialization patterns and their medium-term perspectives, and establishing the types of strategies they have undertaken according to their specialization patterns. The fourth section provides an analysis of the geopolitical influence of China in the world food market, given its strong impact on food markets and specifically on the soybean market. Finally, in section five, the conclusions of the study are presented.
