Description
The purpose of this technical report is to analyze the transformation process in which the agricultural sector and food systems are currently undergoing, as well as the main structural and long-term challenges they face. It also discusses the needs for institutional adjustment and transformation, the necessary improvements in sectoral public policies and financing options for the sector. It also addresses the impact of the health crisis unleashed by COVID-19 on agriculture and food and highlights the need to address the urgent demands to ensure the supply of healthy and sustainable food for the population. This report is relevant for the Public Policy Observatory, as it contributes to the analysis and discussion of key issues for decision-making in the agrifood sector.
